Take flight without ever leaving Pigeon Forge at SkyFly: Soar America, an immersive flying theater experience located at The Island. Using state-of-the-art ride technology, SkyFly: Soar America creates the sensation of soaring through the air above some of America’s most recognizable landscapes and destinations.
The adventure begins before you ever take your seat. The attraction features themed, story-driven spaces and a pre-show experience that sets the stage for the flight ahead, building anticipation as guests make their way toward the main flying theater.
Once aboard, riders are lifted into the air with their feet dangling in front of a massive 50-foot spherical screen. The motion of the ride is synchronized with sweeping aerial footage, creating the feeling that you’re actually flying over the landscapes unfolding in front of you.
The experience engages more than just your sense of sight. Wind, mist, scents, motion, and other special effects are incorporated throughout the journey, adding another layer of immersion as the scenery changes around you.
During the flight, guests travel virtually across America and experience more than 30 locations from a completely different perspective. From dramatic natural landscapes to famous cities and landmarks, the custom film showcases a variety of destinations without guests ever leaving their seats.
SkyFly: Soar America is an indoor attraction, making it an easy addition to a Smoky Mountain itinerary throughout the year. The experience is designed for families and multi-generational groups, although riders must meet current height and safety requirements. Guests must be at least 40 inches tall to ride, and those between 40 and 55 inches must be accompanied by an adult.
The attraction is ADA accessible, and an alternate viewing area is available for guests who are unable or choose not to ride. Guests using wheelchairs or mobility devices must be able to transfer into the ride seat to experience the flying motion.
