People’s Choice Tasting Contest

Think you know your BBQ? The 5th year for the People’s Choice Tasting Contest allows event attendees to cast their vote for the best pulled pork BBQ from competition cook teams all across the United States! Participants will be able to sample from a gold line and red line. Choose which line to sample and vote for your favorite! Tickets for this special event can be purchased at the festival or by calling the Sevierville Chamber of Commerce in advance at 865-453-6411. The People’s Choice Tasting Contest will begin at 2:30 pm and end around 3:30 pm on Saturday, May 18.

Bluegrass Music

The best of Bluegrass will keep you humming and strolling along through the whole festival. Every hour a new band will be playing from 5 pm- 8 pm on Friday, May 17; along with new bands every hour playing on Saturday, May 18, from 2 pm- 8 pm. The Bloomin’ BBQ and Bluegrass Festival’s Headliner, “Nitty Gritty Dirt Band,” will be sure to keep your toes tapping when they perform on Saturday, May 18, at 8 pm.

 

 

15th Annual Mountain Soul Vocal Competition

Strolling along with the incredible music, the 15th Annual Mountain Soul Vocal Competition Finals will be held on Saturday, May 18 beginning at 11:30 am at The Back Porch Stage. Finalists will sing their own arrangement of one of Dolly Parton’s songs to compete for a chance to win cash and prizes.

 

The Kid’s Zone

The Bloomin’ BBQ and Bluegrass Festival offers a Kid’s Zone for kids and families who attend. In this zone, there will be old-time toys, incredible face painters, and super fun bounce houses for kids to enjoy! The Bloomin’ BBQ and Bluegrass Festival makes sure there will be fun for everyone!

Historic Walking Tours

The Festival will offer four Historic Walking Tours throughout downtown Sevierville. Make sure to grab your walking shoes as the tours will be led by historians and volunteers from the area. Tours will be going on Friday, May 17 at 6 pm, or Saturday, May 18 at 10 am, 2 pm or 4 pm.

The Arts and Entertainment

Along with the many things to do at the Bloomin’ BBQ & Bluegrass Festival, an event called “Chalk on Bruce” will take place during the festival. Take a stroll on Bruce Street to see the different creations put together by the Sevierville Commons Arts Council, local artists, and the general public. There will also be local dance groups performing on Saturday, starting at 10 am.
