Rising high above downtown Gatlinburg, the iconic Gatlinburg Space Needle is one of the most recognizable landmarks in the Smoky Mountains. This 407-foot observation tower offers panoramic views of downtown Gatlinburg and the surrounding Great Smoky Mountains, making it a memorable stop for first-time visitors and longtime fans of the area.
Guests ride glass elevators more than 400 feet to the observation deck, where they can enjoy 360-degree views of the mountains and city below. On clear days, the views extend for miles across the surrounding ridges. The experience is especially striking around sunset, as the colors change across the sky and Gatlinburg’s lights begin to illuminate the streets below.
The observation deck also features complimentary viewfinders and Higher Learning, an educational experience filled with facts and information about Gatlinburg, the Great Smoky Mountains, and the surrounding landscape.
The fun continues at the tower’s base with Arcadia, a more than 30,000-square-foot amusement center featuring an extensive selection of video games, simulators, redemption games and other activities. Guests can earn electronic tickets while playing and redeem them for prizes at the redemption counter.
Visitors can also stop by Slice Pizza Bakery for New York-style pizza, calzones, salads, sandwiches, and appetizers before or after their trip to the observation deck.
The Gatlinburg Space Needle offers beautiful views throughout the year, from summer greenery and colorful autumn ridges to the lights of downtown Gatlinburg during the holiday season.
