Located beside the historic Old Mill in Pigeon Forge, Old Forge Distillery celebrates more than 200 years of Tennessee tradition through hand-forged spirits inspired by the history and flavors of the Smoky Mountains. The distillery combines time-honored methods with modern innovation to create a diverse collection of spirits right in the heart of historic Old Mill Square.
Old Forge crafts its spirits using stone-ground grains and fresh mountain water. The grains are ground next door at The Old Mill, which was built in 1830 and remains in operation today. The mill’s water-powered gristmill continues to produce freshly ground grains used to create Old Forge spirits, connecting the distillery directly to one of Pigeon Forge’s most recognizable historic landmarks.
Moonshine remains a signature part of the Old Forge lineup. The 1830 Original collection features traditional high-proof clear moonshines made with Tennessee grain, while flavored varieties include favorites such as Coffee, Oatmeal Cookie, Bananas Foster, Chocolate, Peach, Blackberry, Caramel, and more. Many of the flavors take inspiration from foods and treats found throughout The Old Mill district.
Old Forge offers much more than moonshine. Its collection includes bourbon whiskey, rum, vodka, gin, and seasonal cream liqueurs. The Harvest Gin is made with locally grown and harvested muscadine grapes and finished in used Tennessee white oak bourbon barrels, while the distillery’s bourbon offerings showcase another side of its Appalachian-inspired approach to spirits.
Visitors can enjoy complimentary spirit tastings with Old Forge’s spirit guides and get a look at the stills in action while exploring the distillery. Old Forge does not currently offer formal distillery tours, but guests can learn more about the spirits during their tasting experience and browse the bottle shop for moonshine, bourbon, vodka, gin, rum, cream liqueurs, and other selections.
