903 Parkway Suite 127-129, Gatlinburg, TN, 37738
Ole Smoky Distillery brings the history and tradition of Appalachian moonshine to life with award-winning moonshine, whiskey, and lively distillery experiences. Founded in 2010 in Gatlinburg, Ole Smoky Distillery became the first federally licensed distillery in the history of East Tennessee and has grown into one of the most recognizable names in Tennessee spirits.
The original Ole Smoky Moonshine Holler in downtown Gatlinburg is known as America’s most visited distillery. Located along the Parkway, the Holler is where the Ole Smoky Distillery’s story began and remains a popular destination for experiencing Appalachian moonshine culture, tastings, live music, and the traditional art of moonshine production.
Ole Smoky Distillery offers an extensive collection of moonshine and whiskey with flavors ranging from traditional to unexpected. Moonshine favorites include White Lightnin’, Apple Pie, Blackberry, Strawberry, and Blue Flame, while whiskey selections include Tennessee Straight Bourbon Whiskey, Salty Caramel Whiskey, and other flavored and traditional varieties. Available tasting selections can vary by location.
Visitors can sample Ole Smoky moonshine and whiskey at its tasting bars, browse merchandise, and take home their favorite spirits. Reservations are not required for regular tastings, although guests must be at least 21 years old and present a valid ID to participate. Guided behind-the-scenes distillery tours are currently available at The Holler in Gatlinburg and 6th & Peabody in Nashville.
In the Smoky Mountains, visitors can experience three different Ole Smoky destinations. The Holler at 903 Parkway in Gatlinburg is the original home of Ole Smoky Tennessee Moonshine, and features live music alongside its moonshine experience. Just down the Parkway, The Barrelhouse at 650 Parkway specializes in Ole Smoky’s whiskey offerings. In Pigeon Forge, The Barn at 131 The Island Drive combines moonshine and whiskey tastings with live music and the lively atmosphere of The Island.
Ole Smoky also brings its Tennessee spirit to Nashville at 6th & Peabody, where moonshine and whiskey are joined by Yee-Haw beer, food, live music, sports, and a beer garden. In 2026, Ole Smoky is expanding beyond Tennessee with a new location at Broadway at the Beach in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, featuring a distillery, tasting rooms, beer garden, guided tours, and event spaces.
For visitors spending their vacation in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, Ole Smoky’s three East Tennessee locations make it easy to experience different sides of the brand while exploring the Smokies. Guests can even participate in the Ole Smoky Hooch Hop, visiting The Holler, The Barrelhouse, and The Barn and collecting stamps with qualifying purchases along the way.
Whether you’re sampling traditional moonshine, discovering a new whiskey flavor, listening to live music, or learning more about the history behind the spirits, Ole Smoky offers a distinctly Tennessee experience rooted in the heritage and spirit of the Smoky Mountains.
