Take your Smoky Mountain vacation to new heights with Scenic Helicopter Tours. Flying over the Great Smoky Mountains since 1972, Scenic Helicopter Tours offers visitors a completely different perspective on the mountains, valleys, lakes, and communities that make East Tennessee such a popular destination.
With a variety of flight options available, guests can choose an experience based on how much of the Smokies they want to see. Short introductory flights provide a taste of helicopter flight and sweeping views of the Tennessee countryside, while longer tours explore destinations throughout Sevier County and the surrounding mountains.
Depending on the tour selected, views can include the French Broad River, Douglas Lake, downtown Sevierville, Pigeon Forge, Bluff Mountain, Wears Valley, and the surrounding Tennessee Valley. Longer mountain flights venture toward Gatlinburg and Great Smoky Mountains National Park, offering an aerial perspective on some of the region’s most impressive scenery.
Scenic Helicopter Tours has more than 50 years of flying experience in the Smokies, and its flights are FAA and National Park Service approved. Professional pilots guide each experience while sharing information about the landscapes and points of interest visible along the route.
Scenic offers multiple aircraft and seating configurations, with its largest helicopters accommodating up to six guests. Passenger and combined weight requirements vary by aircraft, and passengers are weighed privately at check-in in accordance with aviation requirements.
Guests can choose everything from an introductory flight to extended mountain and national park experiences, making it possible to find an option for first-time helicopter passengers as well as visitors looking for a more extensive aerial tour of the Smokies. Customized flights and private charters are also available for those looking for a more personalized experience.
All Smoky Mountain tours depart from Scenic Helicopter Tours’ heliport at 1949 Winfield Dunn Parkway in Sevierville. Visitors can also stop by the Scenic Helicopter Tours Ticket & Information Center at 1965 Parkway in Pigeon Forge, located across from WonderWorks, for information and reservations.
When you’re driving through the area, just look for the big yellow helicopter. From lakes and rolling farmland to mountain ridges and Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Scenic Helicopter Tours offers an unforgettable way to see the Smokies from above.
